It seems bizarre to me that Michael Bloomberg, the billionaire undefeatable mayor of New York needs to create a whole publication just to build some public opinion cred. And that Bloomberg has to offer editors $500k to lure them away to publish data-driven, nonpartisan opinion is an incredible statement about the state of today’s media.
